Introduction of TVS Jupiter

TVS Jupiter is a stylish scooter from the stable of India’s third-largest motorcycle manufacturer TVS Motor Company.

The first model of the two-wheeler got rolled out in September 2013. It targeted urban male riders, including students, young professionals, traders, business people, salespeople, contractors, and even family men.

The following year, in the NDTV Car and Bike Awards, the scooter got awarded the Scooter of the Year title. It also won numerous awards, including the Scooter of the Year from Bike India and BBC Top Gear India.

The two-wheeler gets a masculine appearance, which is quite different from the company’s Pep or Streak models. But at the same time, its conventional design gives it a certain appeal.

The scooter, known for its high functionality and efficiency, makes the daily rides to college or work (or anywhere outside) fun and hassle-free.

It comes in five variants and seventeen different colours.

The ex-showroom cost of the TVS Jupiter varies from Rs. 65,673 to Rs. 75,773.

TVS Jupiter’ on-road price ranges between Rs. 83,016 and Rs. 90,684.

Highlights of TVS Jupiter

Design of TVS Jupiter

Though TVS Jupiter has the appearance of a conventional scooter, it also has some masculine features that make it stylish, macho, and different from its peers. Such as the visor windshield that gets riveted above the headlamp; this gives it the ruggedness of a bike.

Below it, a prominent LED headlight comes fitted with a pair of pilot lamps, which assures the rider of safety during nighttime riding even if the main headlamp does not work for some time.

The headlamp resembles the one that debuted with the BS4 Jupiter Grande variant.

Just under the headlamp, the TVS logo appears in sharp contrast to the body colour.

A pair of ‘khukri’-shaped side indicators give it striking looks and great functionality to both sides. The mudguard is also stylishly designed, and the chrome accents on it nicely contrast with the colour.

The floorboard gives enough legroom, and the seat height of 765 mm is suitable for an average-sized rider to those who are a bit on the taller and heavier side.

The light-coloured footboard and the inner side of the apron enhance the scooter’s looks. It also features a pair of footrests for pillion riders.

Under the boot, a storage space of 21 litres gives adequate room for few additional belongings safe. A carry hook is just below the seat, holding the rider’s or passenger’s bag.

The seat is a flat one, and towards the rear, a cushioned backrest-cum-grabrail gives extra support and safety to pillion riders. Just below the grabrail, there’s a fuel cap, and below it, the tail light gets featured, which is well protected by a guard.

A flappable side footrest lies at the left, and the alloy wheels give the scooter a sophisticated look.

Pilot lamps: The pair of pilot lamps can serve as secondary safety lights if the main headlamp fails while riding at night.

Under-seat storage: The under-seat storage of 21 litres provides ample space for the safekeeping of belongings.

Low fuel warning lamp: This will alert the rider about the depleting fuel level.
