It’s been less than a year, when the Delhi-based company invested $60 million in the California-based EV maker. Now Hero is all set to launch electric motorcycles of US-based Zero Motorcycles in India which will be manufactured within the country. Hero is focusing on establishing partnership with EV companies and exploring the EV space, looking at the future. It’s clear fast and high performance EV will have a good market in future.

“This collaboration marries the expertise of Zero in developing power trains and electric motorcycles, with the scale of manufacturing, sourcing and marketing prowess of Hero MotoCorp to reach the large Indian and other international markets,” Hero further said in its report.

Zero’s model line-up, which is currently only manufactured at the company’s facility in Scotts Valley, comprises dual-sport models, naked bikes, an adventure-tourer as well as a fully-faired sport bike. All motorcycles employ battery packs ranging from 7.2 kWh to 17.3 kWh, with price tags ranging from $13,000 to $25,000 (before local incentives), which translates to Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakh in India’s currency. Its not clear where Zero model will come to India or where will they be built.
