For all Yamaha fans and enthusiasts, Yamaha motors India is all set to launch a couple of bikes by year end and a bigger bike also planned to launch in the coming year. Yamaha is focused on 125cc scooters and 150cc bikes in India till today, but now the company is focusing on the launch of YZF R3 and MT03 by the end of this year. Along with these bikes we can expect R7 or MT07 also to launch in 2024. Yamaha India’s chairman Eishin Chihana has disclosed that the company plans to introduce the new YZF R3 in India by the end of this financial year 2024 – which means we are looking at a timeframe between December 2023 to March 2024. The Yamaha R3 and MT03 are powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin engine producing 42 PS at 10,750 RPM and 29.6 Nm of torque at 9000 RPM. While the performance figures of India-spec models are not confirmed yet, we believe it’ll be more or less the same. Unlike earlier, the bikes will be coming to India in CBU form from Indonesia, but the company will eventually shift to CKD production. The previous-gen BS4 R3 last retailed at Rs 3.5 lakh before it was discontinued and the new one comes with improvements like a USD fork and revised style. With that in mind, the 2023 Yamaha R3 might end up being quite expensive and it could cost above Rs 4 lakh, but hopefully the company can keep the price at or below that mark.
