Last year ktm had acquired a 25.1% stake in MV AGUSTA. This was to put the Italian brand to help the bike maker supply chain network and in turn , hands over its purchasing power to KTM. KTM views MV AGUSTA as a “JEWEL” with great potential and if it gets the majority of the stake it will help to increase MV’s current production and distribution network.
In a recent interview it was quoted by one of the PIERER’s executive member “MV AUGUSTA will enter our perimeter. It will be a luxury brand, and we will aim at 12 thousand motorcycles a year…. We want to invest heavily in the Varese plant over the next two years. But first we need to work on the sales and commercial network, develop a business that is sustainable for Mv Agusta”
