Introduction of TVS Adventure 310

A new adventure bike from TVS will be introduced in the Indian market and utilise the same single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that complies with BS6 standards. The brand-new TVS Adventure 310 or TVS ADV will be the forthcoming motorcycle.

With a 6-speed transmission and features including riding functions, a slipper shift, and ABS modes, it will be available in the market soon.

As it just submitted a trademark application for the moniker “Raider,” the two-wheeler industry behemoth from Hosur has plenty more surprises for the riders. There’s not much information on the new product, as was to be expected, but if we had to guess, we’d say it may be an adventure tourer.

Additionally, TVS takes part in rallies all around the world, including in Dakar. Therefore, a TVS ADV motorbike seems like a natural progression for the company. The TVS Raider, in contrast to the BMW G 310 GS, may be more of an entry-level ADV motorbike along the lines of the Hero XPulse 200. But TVS has planned to bring out a more dynamic TVS ADV bike.

What’s new in TVS ADV?

A 300 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that complies with the most recent BS6 emission requirements will power the new TVS ADV bike. It will get coupled to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch system for racing. The liquid-cooled engine of the TVS Adventure 310 will feature a BOSCH race-tuned fuel injection system.

The electronic throttle control system provides quick and precise throttle response. The bike will offer various riding modes, like its sports sister, the RR 310. The ADV’s maximum power and torque outputs will be close to 34 PS and 27.3 Nm, respectively.

Its foundation will be a steel trellis frame with an aluminium swingarm made of die-casting. This forthcoming TVS adventure bike will have mono-shock absorbers in the back and invited cartridge forks up front. The TVS ADV’s suspension will get adjusted to provide additional wheel travel, improving off-road capability. It will have a single 310 mm petal disc brake up front and a 240 mm petal disc brake down back for braking.

This adventure bike could include a multi-mode ABS from TVS. Strong LED headlights and a computerised TFT panel with a smartphone connectivity option will be standard on the ADV.

Highlights of TVS Adventure 310

Design of TVS ADV

An entry-level adventure bike with a sporty, high-end design is the TVS ADV. The bike has an innovative commuter design. The bike has a tiny windshield up front and a chic headlight. The front mudguard receives the same body colour as the body, and the rear view reflectors get two-tone colours. Black paint gives a finishing touch to the engine, wheel, side panels, and exhaust pipe.

The ADV also receives enthralling body decorations that enhance the bike’s dynamic appearance. A pillion grabrail is installed in the straightforward tail portion, and the clear lens indicators also improve the motorcycle’s appearance. The motorcycle is a stylish adventure bike in the 300 cc class overall.

Colour and variants of TVS ADV

The new adventurous TVS ADV is expected to be available in three colours:

  • Red

  • Silver

The bike comes only in one variant:

Engine of TVS ADV

The bikes will get powered by a 300 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 8.3 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The engine gets coupled with a 4-speed transmission. In its class, the ADV offers sparkling performance, and the 310 cc engine excels at handling daily commuting. The engine has enough power and refinement to handle adventurous terrains with ease.

Features of TVS ADV

A dynamic headlight and tail lamp, stylish body graphics, a comfy seat, 5-step adjustable shock absorbers, aluminium grab rails, alloy wheels, and electronic start are some of the standout characteristics of the TVS ADV. The bike’s low kerb weight of 108.5kg makes it a commuter bike that is simple to ride.

The suspension will provide more wheel travel, which will enhance off-road capability. Its front wheel will have a single 310 mm petal disc brake, while its rear wheel will have a 240 mm petal disc brake.

The multi-mode ABS on this adventure bike is from TVS. Strong LED headlights and a computerised TFT panel with a smartphone connection are both standards on the bike.

Transmission and braking duties of TVS ADV

There will be mono-shock absorbers in the back and invited cartridge forks up front on the TVS adventure bike. The suspension of the TVS Adventure 310 will get changed to allow for more wheel travel, enhancing its off-road performance. Expert Reviews

  • This new TVS ADV, which will compete with models like the RE Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS, and KTM 250 Adventure, seems quite promising.

  • To give it a competitive edge, TVS will outfit its ADV tourer with market-first features, including riding modes, multiple mode ABS, and a TFT console. The TVS ADV will need a highly competitive price because there are many motorcycles in this category.

  • The Raider ADV bike might get powered with a 200-250cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that would provide enough power at a fair price. Its thick tyres, large spoke wheels, and high ground clearance could be more suited for off-road driving.

  • There are two potential modifications that TVS might provide for the Raider: the XPulse 200 and the XPulse 200T.

  • If the TVS Raider meets the requirements mentioned above, its price might range from Rs. 1.50 lakh to Rs. 1.60 lakh. At this price, it may narrow the gap between the Hero Xpulse 200 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Top 3 Competitors of TVS Adventure 310

TVS ADV vs Royal Enfield Himalayan 350

The cost of RE Himalayan is Rs. 2,011,000. The TVS ADV is Rs 50,000 less expensive than the new Himalayan at Rs 1.50 lakhs.

An adventure bike must have the high ground clearance to prevent the underside from scraping the road. In this situation, 2021 Himalayan is more equipped to handle rough roads because of its 220 mm ground clearance than the TVS ADV, which has a 200 mm ground clearance.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan gets equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster with a digital display for the odometer, trip metre, gear-position indication, and analogue counters for speed and tachometer. In contrast, the TVS ADV features an entirely digital negative LCD to display information like speed, tachometer, trip metre, odometer, gear position, average fuel economy, etc.

TVS ADV vs KTM RC 390

The TVS ADV costs Rs 1,50,000 whereas the KTM RC 390 costs almost double at around Rs 3,00,000.

Both the supersport bike uses the Trellis frames; however, that of KTM RC’s is lighter than the ADV. The 2022 RC 390, according to KTM, now has a 1.5 kg lighter trellis frame, which is evident in its kerb weight of 159 kg. Despite having a larger wheelbase, the TVS ADV may weighs 174 kg and is shorter overall than the KTM RC 390.

The same 43mm WP APEX upside-down fork suspensions with 120 mm of travel are still used on the 2022 KTM RC 390, together with a WP APEX mono-shock suspension for the rear wheel. In addition to using USD fork suspension, the TVS ADV also features 41mm KYB units with 140 mm of travel.

TVS ADV vs BMW G 310

TVS ADV is cheaper than the BMW G 310. BMW G 310 costs around Rs 2,30,000 whereasTVS ADV costs Rs 1,50,000.

Both in terms of design and feature set, the BMW G 310 R and TVS ADV differ significantly in design and feature set. The completely digital LCD instrument panel on the BMW G 310 R provides all the necessary readouts, including a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip metre, gear position indication, clock, fuel gauge, etc. In contrast, the TVS ADV may get a five-inch TFT instrument display with all the required readouts and a SmartXonnect system for smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle diagnostics, a lap timer, etc.

Conclusion

Early in the next year, TVS Motors India is anticipated to begin selling the new TVS Adventure 310 motorbike. The motorbike will most likely get powered by a 300 cc single-cylinder engine with a 34 bhp and 27.3 nm torque rating. Based on the well-known Trellis, the TVS ADV will be built. The price in India is estimated to be around Rs. 1.50 lakh.
