To fill the gaps that were not fully covered by Jawa 42, Jawa launched its upgraded version Jawa 42 2.1.

The most significant update includes the replacement of the spoke wheels with alloy wheels, and that change added a new look and comfort to the bike.

The new Jawa 42 2.1 gets a revised instrument cluster with a digital LCD, bar-ends mirror, and blacked-out components added to the new bike.

While the Jawa 42 was available in both single and dual-channel ABS, the new Jawa 42 2.1 is available in only dual-channel ABS.

Design of Jawa 42

The design of the Jawa 42 and the Jawa 42 2.1 looks like a retro style bike, and to give an excellent retro feel, the Jawa has shown round headlights complemented by curve-body panels.

The Jawa 42 2.1 also gets designed with the same concept adding on some additional features such as alloy wheels and the analogue meter replaced by a digital one, and bar-ends mirrors are also included.

The modern visual design cues make it distinct from others. Jawa 42 gets a slow-slung custom seat, flat handlebar, chunky tyres, dark paint job and a minimal front fender.

All three variant gets the same engine. So, Jawa 42 gets powered by a 293cc liquid-cooled BSVI single-cylinder engine that generates the maximum power of 27.3 PS @ 6800rpm and maximum torque of 27.02 NM @ 5000 rpm.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Features of Jawa 42

Jawa has created the bike in the retro style, and to give the natural retro feel, previously, it missed some features. In Jawa 42, an analogue speedometer and a fuel gauge are alongside the odometer’s reading, and the gear positioning and the tachometer is missing.

The upgraded version of Jawa 42 2.1 gets updated with some features—a revised cluster instrument is installed in the new bike with an LCD, and the alloy ones replace the spokes wheels.

The bike misses some features such as GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity option, a USB charging slot, and many small features which are handy and are getting popular in the bike of this range. Still, the motorcycle receives enough features to satisfy any bike lover.

Suspension and brakes of Jawa 42

Like the earlier Jawa BSIV, the Jawa 42 BSVI also carries the same telescopic front fork and twin gas-charged rear shock absorber. The bike comes in single-channel and dual-channel ABS. All three variants use disc brakes at the front wheel while drum brakes at the rear.
