Introduction of Harley Davidson Fat Boy 114

Before going into production for the 1990 model, the Fat Boy first appeared as a teaser model in 1988 and 1989. The Fat Boy gained widespread recognition after Arnold Schwarzenegger soared into history in the science fiction action smash Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991.

The Fat Boy has a distinctive look and a lot of chrome, but that’s not all. It includes a tonne of features as well. It has a shotgun-style dual exhaust system, bespoke metal fenders, a wide FLH-style handlebar, and a textured leather seat insert. Avoid taming the Fat Boy by riding it in the city because it is a highway cruiser, and its engine produces a lot of power.

The sleek chrome engine and exhaust finishes provide a modern touch to the vintage design, and the recognisable, light-tuned Softail frame all contribute to the motorcycle’s distinctive appeal.

The starting price for a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy cruiser bike in India is Rs. 21,10,247. There is only one variant and four colours offered.

What's New in the Latest Model?

  • The Fat Boy 2021 has recognisable “disc wheels,” a full-LED headlight, and cut fenders. The wheels have 240mm rear and 160mm front tyres.
  • A broad FLH-style handlebar, a textured leather seat insert, bespoke metal fenders, floorboards, and dual exhausts are some of the other elements of the motorcycle.
  • The semi-digital instrument cluster is on the gasoline tank of the cruiser motorbike.

Highlights of Harley Davidson Fat Boy 114

Design

The faux rigid Fat Boy, a Softail model since its inception, hits all the right high points with its thick, chrome-skirted front forks, low 25.9-inch seat height, and solid-disc wheels both upfront and in the back.

The windsock position, an upright stance typically comfortable for most body types, is achieved by the set of short-rise/slight-pullback handlebars, front foot controls, and full footboards.

The fenders at both ends provide the impression of a classic layout. Although the factory made efforts to maintain the old chrome-nacelle look up front despite the modern lighting, the switch to LED lighting resulted in a modification in the actual headlight housing.

A pair of bullet-shaped turn signal housings mounted on the struts, a slender LED lightbar tail light, and a side-mounted licence plate holder make up the rear equipment. The Fat Boy carries a lot of physical weight – as well as its apparent weight – down low to create this a strong-feeling and solid-looking vehicle thanks to the muscular front end and trademark sturdy rims.

The new design complements the rear tyre, which is the widest seen on any Harley-Davidson production model.

Engine

The Fat Boy’s air-cooled 1745cc Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin engine produces 144 Nm at under 3000rpm. It comes with a 6-speed transmission with large gear ratios included. Although refinement levels are much higher than those of its predecessor, the 6-speed gearbox has a clumsy feel. The Heritage Classic’s 19.1-litre fuel tank and 322kg operating weight are the same for this motorcycle. The chassis is lighter and more rigid and comes from the brand-new Softail lineup. The seat height is 670mm, and the vehicle’s a modest 115mm ground clearance.

Therefore, expect to scrape the bottom of the majority of the speed limit signs in town, especially if there is a passenger. The front forks in the suspension system use Showa twin bending valves for quick responses, and the rear mono-shock has remote manual preload adjustment. The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy has 18-inch chrome spoke wheels with a spoke count of 160/60 and 240/40, staying true to the vintage motif. A single disc is used for both the front and rear brakes.

Features

The Fat Boy 114 comes with all LED lighting and a semi-digital roundel on the tank. A 5-inch analogue speedometer with digital gear, odometer, fuel level, clock, trip, range, and tachometer indication and the rear look cleaner than before because turn indicators are now integrated into the brake lights.

The pillion has no backrest, and the rear seat is best reserved for shorter rides. Fortunately, the stretched-out handlebar and forward-set footboards make for a comfortable riding position. The rider’s seat is plush and a little soft. The 2019 Fat Boy’s electronics package consists of ABS and nothing else. There is no traction control or cruise control on this powerful cruiser.

Suspension, Transmission, and brakes

The suspension setup includes front forks with Showa dual bending valves for faster responses and a rear mono-shock with remote manual adjustment for preload. It comes with a 6-speed transmission, and a Manual transmission backs the Performance of Fat Boy 114. Harley-Davidson Fat Boy creates an anti-locking braking system with disc brakes that includes single front brakes with a 300 mm floating rotor and four-piston disc brakes and single rear brakes with a 300 mm floating rotor and two-piston disc brakes.

  • The new Harley Davidson Fatboy is an Urban muscle brawler in looks & probably the best-looking cruiser.

  • You will never regret paying 24 lakh for the bike as it is super comfy, the dashing look has an excellent road presence, and has a perfect & comfortable riding experience.

  • It is comfy and simple to ride. Both the ride and the power delivery are incredibly smooth. It is just heavy enough to provide a stable ride, not overly heavy like the Electra glide.
