The BMW S 1000 R gets BS6 Water/Oil-cooled 4-cylinder 4-stroke inline 999cc engine. The engine includes 4 Valves per Cylinder and two overhead camshafts.

The engine produces a maximum torque of 114 Nm @ 9250 rpm and a max power of 162.7hp @ 11000 rpm. The oversquare engine includes a bore and stroke of 80 mm and 49.7 mm, respectively.

The oversquare engine has a bigger bore which means bigger valves. So, it can take in and push out more air in each cycle, and more air means more power.

Features of BMW S 1000 R

The new model of BMW S 1000 R turns into an advanced well-technical two-wheeler after getting a class-leading 6.5 inches TFT display.

It offers DTC traction control as a standard configuration, and the rider can view all the information during riding in the bright, glamorous display.

The bike’s front features get a new LED front headlight, which is more petite and narrower than ago, and it keeps the bike lighter physically and visually.

Also, the two-wheeler gets equipped with an optional headlight, and the pro-variant offers a daylight-riding strip.

Along with the lighting setup, the BMW Motorrad has updated its S 1000 R globally with improved tech and revised colour schemes.

There are three riding modes- Rain, Road, and Dynamic. Apart from these improved visual elements, the bike gets dual-channel ABS with its advanced braking console.

It also includes features like ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Light, Revolution Counter, Electronic Immobiliser, Drop Sensor, On-board Computer, Handbrake Lever Adjustable, Start Control, Detachable License Plate Holder, Passenger Kit, etc.

Coming to the steering section, the new model of S 1000 R gives a 33-degree steering range which helps in traffic filtering and split lanes. Coming to the clutch facility, thanks to the new self-reinforcing clutch.

The riders can now reduce the operating force of the clutch. Alongside, the two-wheeler’s company gives a free pillion kit or M passenger seat as external accessories.

Transmission, Suspension, and Brakes of BMW S 1000 R

The BMW S 1000 R feature a synchromesh six-speed manual gearbox built into the engine housing. The street fighter can run smoothly at its top speed, 200 kmph, with the support of the fifth or sixth gear.

The sport bike gets planted upside-down telescopic fork with a diameter of 45 mm, spring preload, and adjustable rebound and compression stage in the front.

Coming to the rear suspension, the bike gets an Aluminium under-beam swinging arm, Full-Floater Pro, central shock absorber, adjustable rebound, compression damping, and adjustable spring preload to soak the big hits and get smooth travel.

The front suspension travel provides a smooth experience with 120 mm travel, and the rear gives a journey of 117 mm.

For braking duties, the ABS technology aids the front double-disc and rear single-disc brakes.

The bike offers a 320 mm double disc four-piston fixed calliper in the front and a 220 mm single disc one-piston floating calliper at the rear.
