Aprilia, an Italian company, makes the sporty scooter called the SR 160. It replaced the Aprilia SR 150 in India when it came out in 2020.
Even before it came out, the Aprilia SR 160 was an interesting and unique product. It has a strong engine, handles sharply and precisely, and has great brakes. And with the new changes, it’s even more appealing.
The price is high, especially after the recent price hike, which is a big deal. But Piaggio has always meant for its products to be more expensive.

- The front Aprilia SR 160 has been changed, with a new headlamp and apron, among other changes. It now has a new LED headlight instead of the old halogen one, which makes it look more expensive.
- It does have a Bluetooth connectivity suite, but it costs an extra Rs 2,000 and only gives you call and SMS alerts, not turn-by-turn directions.
- Small changes have been made to the front by giving the apron more angular lines and deeper curves.
- At the back, the single-piece seat has been replaced by what looks like a split seat but is a single-piece seat with a cut in the middle.

At the back, the scooter incorporates a chunkier grab rail, an X-shaped LED tail light, and an aerodynamic mudguard that adds to the stylish look. The exhaust is also made to look athletic, which adds to the scooter’s aggressive look.

The scooter also has a USB charger and a utility box light in your under-seat storage space.

You can get the Bluetooth connectivity model (not offered as standard) when you pay RS 2,000, but it lacks navigation.
Transmission, Suspension, and Brakes of Aprilia SR 160
The Aprilia SR 160 is fitted with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), allowing smoother gear changes while maintaining constant engine speed. The Aprilia SR 160’s CVT gearbox also features a centrifugal clutch, an automatic clutch.
